Because there are not enough medical volunteers in Brazil, mainly because of the lack of support and poor local hospital structure, FUNDAMED has focused its efforts mainly on recruiting medical volunteers and surgical teams (made up of Brazilian and foreign professionals).
In order to assist the international volunteers, FUNDAMED offers to cater for all the logistical structuring of the medical teams. We will be responsible for the setting up and planning of the mission, including the followup and post-op.

International medical teams are responsible for supplying all the necessary equipment, supplies and medicines in order to perform their medical activities successfully. The teams are to work in cities determined by FUNDAMED for a period of 1 – 2 weeks serving the needy and destitute local population.

FUNDAMED appreciates the help of all medical volunteers, but there is an increasing need for professionals of the following medical fields: plastic surgeons, general surgeons, orthopedists, ophthalmologists, ENT and urologists. This is solely because there is a greater demand for the services of such professionals in the areas assisted by FUNDAMED. However if you have medical expertise in other areas, please let us know so we can properly prepare a mission accordingly.
